Plants can include pump stations, inlet screens, balancing tanks, activated sludge plants (aeration and settlement tank), aerobic sludge digesters, tertiary plants (pressure filters, slow sand filters, upward flow clarifiers, drum filters), chlorination or UV disinfection.
Aeration and settlement tanks from factory or site painted welded carbon steel, site installed glass coated bolted steel panels or site constructed concrete. Aeration by air blowers with fixed output or variable speed on automatic dissolved oxygen control.
Settlement tanks with hopper bottom and hydraulic sludge and scum return on smaller plants or floor scraped and surface scum scraped with airlift or pump sludge return on larger plants.
Controls varying from simple ON/OFF control to fully automated control with plc control.
